CHALLENGE · AIunipedia Community
A practical community challenge: improve one prompt, test it fairly and explain the difference. Beginners and experienced builders are welcome.
Need a starting structure? Borrow the practical prompt template. If you add few-shot examples, explain how you chose them and keep your test cases separate.
Today’s shared task: fix this delivery reply
Baseline prompt:
Reply to this customer. Be persuasive and make them happy:
“Can you guarantee delivery tomorrow, and how much will it cost?”
The approved facts: standard delivery takes 3–5 business days after dispatch; same-day delivery is not offered; the fee is confirmed at checkout. Do not add facts beyond this fictional policy.
Your challenge: rewrite the prompt so the reply is warm, stays under 65 words, does not invent a fee or promise a delivery date, and gives one useful next step.
How to join in five minutes
- Copy the baseline prompt into your chosen tool. Record the tool/model and date.
- Save the actual response, even if it is already good.
- Write your revised prompt and run it on the same customer message.
- Post both prompts, both actual outputs and the specific differences you observed.
- Reply thoughtfully to another submission. Can their revision handle a missing-information case?
Review checklist: supported facts; no invented fee; no guaranteed date; clear next step; under 65 words. Report regressions as well as improvements. If the baseline already meets the requirements, say so.
You can participate with a free tool you already use or submit a prompt-only proposal labelled not tested. No purchase, prize or certification is involved. We can feature a contribution in the community with its author’s permission.
