QUESTION · AIunipedia Community
A definition can be technically plausible and still leave a reader confused. It may use unexplained jargon, omit a key distinction or imply a stronger guarantee than the technology provides.
Use this thread to identify a specific entry in Michael Oracle’s AI Dictionary and propose a useful correction.
What to include
- The exact term or entry link.
- The sentence that caused difficulty.
- Whether the issue is factual accuracy, ambiguity, missing context or readability.
- Your suggested replacement.
- A source or example supporting the change.
For example, an explanation of an AI agent should not imply that every chatbot acts autonomously. An explanation of a context window should not imply that every fact inside it will be recalled reliably. Precision matters most where readers might make a practical decision from the wording.
Keep corrections focused
If the explanation works for beginners but needs technical qualification, suggest a separate deeper note rather than turning the first sentence into a textbook paragraph. If your source applies only to one implementation, make that scope clear.
Editorial decisions should preserve both accuracy and readability. A shorter definition is not automatically better if it hides the limitation the reader needs.
