QUESTION · AIunipedia Community
Many people understand a term only when they see the job it performs. This thread collects practical examples that could help improve Michael Oracle’s AI Dictionary and the surrounding learning material.
For inspiration, connect a definition to the customer-support example or explain a decision in your project case study. If the example exposes a weak definition, suggest a correction too.
Make the example specific
Choose one term and describe a simple situation. Identify the input, the operation and the result. Explain why the term applies and what it does not establish.
For “retrieval”, you might describe a system selecting a relevant delivery-policy passage before an answer is drafted. The example should not imply that finding a passage guarantees a correct answer.
For “human in the loop”, identify the actual point where a person reviews or approves something. A human name in an organisation chart is not the same as an enforced review step.

Important limitation:
Is the example fictional or from a project you can discuss?
Use fictional examples when customer or client information would otherwise be exposed. Do not describe a hypothetical success as a result you measured.
We welcome examples from education, creative work, software development and small businesses. Clear everyday examples can be technically rigorous without being complicated.
